Hohenshell Financial is pleased to share that Stephanie Hohenshell earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designation on April 1, 2022.
The RICP® designation is offered by The American College of Financial Services and focuses on retirement income planning. Its coursework includes topics such as Social Security claiming, health care and long-term care costs, taxation, estate and legacy planning, and retirement income strategies. The program is designed to help financial professionals build practical retirement income knowledge across a range of client situations.
For many people, retirement planning is not just about building savings. It is also about understanding how income may be created from different sources, how taxes and health care costs may affect those decisions, and how a plan may need to adjust over time.
That is part of why this designation matters to the work we do today.
At Hohenshell Financial, retirement planning often includes questions about timing, distribution planning, Social Security, Medicare, tax-aware decisions, and long-term care considerations. The RICP® program reflects focused study in those areas and supports the planning work we offer to clients as they prepare for retirement and think through what comes next.
“Many people approach retirement with questions, not certainty,” said Stephanie Hohenshell. “Earning the RICP® was one more way to deepen my knowledge in an area that matters to so many families as they think through income, health care, taxes, and the decisions that come with this stage of life.”
The American College notes that the RICP® program includes required courses and ongoing recertification requirements to maintain the designation.
